The same bar is also called FRP rebar, fiberglass rebar, fiber rod and, in India, fiber sariya. The saw does not make bends. The bar is strong along the glass. It does not stretch before it breaks, it is less stiff than steel, it is not bent on site, and it is not magnetic. It is also called fiberglass rebar, FRP rebar, fiber rod and, in India, fiber sariya. It is not a plastic rod and it is not TMT. It does not rust. It is less stiff than steel and cannot be bent on site. Cut it with a diamond or abrasive wheel. Sizes are 6 mm to 25 mm, made only at Changodar. A price per kilogram is not a price per metre. GFRP does not rust. Cover, grip and crack width still have to be designed. Hooks and stirrups cannot be bent on site. If the cage needs bends, say so before the bars are cut. Steel in a sewage tank, reservoir or pool can rust. 6 mm and 8 mm coils go to 100 m. Larger sizes are straight bars to 12 m. GFRP is strong when pulled along the bar and does not stretch like steel. GFRP cannot. A site bend snaps the glass. Hooks and stirrups must be made in the factory, or the detail must use straight bars. Coils cannot be reshaped on site. Straight bars go to 12 m. Use a diamond or abrasive cutoff wheel. Wear a dust mask, eye protection and gloves. Do not cut in a closed room. Typical uses include MRI rooms, metro tunnels and instrument pits. Being non-magnetic does not remove the need for a structural design. It does not rust, weighs about a quarter of TMT, is not magnetic, and is not bent on site. A member designed for TMT cannot take this bar as a swap. Usual cases are a damp ground slab, a coastal or salty site, a water tank, a septic tank, and a compound wall that stays wet.
